This particularly applies to professions where employees receive substantial compensation and have a significant impact on society. For example, doctors, who play a vital role in public health, should continuously educate themselves by staying up-to-date with the latest research and treatment options for their patients. Failing to do so would be a disservice to their profession and the well-being of their patients. However, these professions are the exception, and for most jobs, the lack of current training will not have such severe consequences.

I believe that companies should primarily shoulder the responsibility for employee training, as they have the resources and motivation to do so. Let's consider the banking industry as an illustrative example. In banks, it is crucial for employees to understand regulatory changes and stay informed about industry developments. While employee training benefits individuals to some extent, the greatest beneficiary is the bank itself, which relies on a competent workforce capable of making sound financial decisions. However, the average bank employee may lack the time or financial means to pursue such training independently. Therefore, well-managed banks commonly offer free online or university courses to dedicated employees. This approach is applicable not only to banking but also to any job where ongoing training can enhance the overall performance of the business.

In conclusion, although there are exceptions in certain professions, companies that have the financial capacity and stand to gain the most from a skilled workforce should assume the responsibility for employee training.
